QUARTER-FINAL WEEKEND SET FOR THE AKURE BANKERS' CUP COMPETITION
Eight teams have booked their places in the knockout stage of the Akure Bankers’ Cup 2026, with four quarter-final ties scheduled at St Mathias Anglican School, Alagbaka, on Saturday, 31 October, and Sunday, 1 November. Saturday’s action opens at 10:15 WAT as FCMB Bank FC face Access Bank FC, followed by CBN FC against GTBank FC at 11:30 WAT. On Sunday, Wema Bank FC take on Polaris Bank FC at 13:00 WAT before Providus-Unity Bank FC meet Zenith Bank FC at 14:30 WAT. Wema Bank FC finished top of the league phase and Providus-Unity Bank FC second, both on 10 points, with CBN FC and FCMB Bank FC completing the top four. FCMB’s Lekan Kolawole leads the scoring chart with seven goals. Providus-Unity and Zenith meet again after Providus-Unity’s 3-0 league-phase win. The quarter-final winners will advance to the semi-finals: the Wema-Polaris and FCMB-Access winners will meet on one side of the bracket, while the Providus-Unity-Zenith and CBN-GTBank winners will meet on the other.
